Grief Therapist & Founder
Welcome to Daylight Grief. While I'm grateful you found your way here, I'm also mindful of the grief that may have brought you here.
I've worked in the mental health field for more than 15 years and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. Throughout my work, grief and loss have remained a central focus and an area I continue to study deeply.
Through my own grief work, I've come to understand that we can experience both joy and pain when we allow ourselves to look deeply into our grief, pain and sorrow.
My approach to grief counseling is grounded in the understanding that grief is highly personal. There is no single way to grieve and no prescribed timeline for adjusting to life after a loss. Our work begins with where you are and what feels most important to you.
Grief can affect your sense of self, your relationships, your connection to the person who died, and the way you understand the life that continues around you. Counseling can offer space to explore those changes with curiosity and compassion, while finding ways to remain connected to yourself, to others, and to what matters to you.
I work with adults experiencing many forms of grief, includig expected loss, sudden and traumatic loss, anticipatory grief, and the secondary losses that can follow a death or significant life change.
When I'm not working, you can often find me outdoors walking in nature or on the water kayaking and paddleboarding. Those are some of the places where I feel most connected to myself and able to slow down and notice what's around me. When I'm outside, I may be finding a quiet place to practice mindfulness, or searching for the best ice cream shop in Morris County.
Grief and trauma are not the same, but they can overlap, particularly when a death is sudden, traumatic, or accompanied by distressing circumstances. My ongoing professional development includes specialized training in grief, bereavement, traumatic loss, and trauma-focused approaches that can be incorporated into counseling when appropriate.
